Tonight is the MLB All-Star Game of course and last night’s Homerun Derby was an absolute show, put on by Joc Pederson and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Fortunately enough for us, we had our Pete Alonso bet sneak out with a win, as he was one of our selections from yesterday’s write-up. Tonight won’t be nearly as exciting but it is something to bet on as we officially enter the slowest betting time until NFL preseason football.

The odds are pretty even tonight, but a slight advantage to the American League currently at -120 and the National League at +100. The run line is set at AL at -1.5 (+155) and NL at +1.5 (-175). There is no true value on either side, but I would side with the NL on both fronts as I think Yelich, Nolan and Bellinger put on a show. It is tough to handicap an all-star game as there is really no true value or edge on the ATS or RL.
Cody Bellinger +1100 (to win MVP)- I like the NL to win this game, therefore I am picking an NL playing to win the MVP. Cody has been hot, as have the Dodgers, and I think he will look to put on a show as did his teammate Joc Pederson did last night. I also think he will get the most time of the three starting outfielders, even over Christian Yelich. A long short for me would be Freddie Freeman at +2200 if you want another player in the mix.
Over (8.5) runs AND Total Hits, Runs And Errors (over 27.5)- After last night, the players are going to try to crush the ball and you have the best hitters in the game. Baseball is also on pace to shatter the single season total HR record of (6,105) in 2017. We are pace to expect over 6,600 HRs. Expect lots of hits and runs from guys such as Trout, Freeman, Yelich, Springer, Arenado and Baez. I have the NL winning this one 6-5 and somewhere around 30 total hits/runs/errors. One thing to consider is the game is at Progressive Field should play fairly even tonight as far as runs scored. Left-handed batters will have the edge, (obviously that wasn’t an issue last night) and most of the pitchers are right-handed for this game. There are many right-handed batters overall on both line-ups but I am still riding the idea that this game will be an offensive show after last night.
